Description of the Atlantic 42
Aluminium sailing yachts built under class A (Ocean class). They're real "All-Weather-Go-Any-Where" cruisers. The Atlantic range sailing yachts are designed by the Atlantic shipyard together with Dick Zaal. They are robust, have a long waterline and are equipped with a swivel or lifting keel system and double balance rudders. This combination offers excellent sailing characteristics which can be compared to a fixed keel boat only with the advantage that the draught can be changed. It also offers the possibility to fall dry, sail on shallower waters, enter tidal harbours later and depart earlier. The Atlantics are very sailing friendly due to a sophisticated deck layout so that the hoisting, trimming, reefing and ironing of sails can be done by one person. A deck layout for a touring sailor who likes performance but wants to be able to operate a ship easily.
Atlantics also has a lot of built-in comfort, just when it is most needed, namely "at sea". Real comfort is not a question of built-in devices, but above all of sophisticated ergonomics: sitting, working and resting should be easy.
The custom-built interior is completely attuned to the manner of use and wishes of the customer.
Every Atlantic is a robust, safe floating home and for the owners always a trusted investment. Our quality can be seen and felt and that too is a not insignificant factor when it comes to sailing pleasure.
