The successful cabin sailboat Etap 23 received a further development in the early 1990s and became first 23i and then 23il, where the i stands for innovation and the l for extra length. Because of the almost half meter extra you could actually call it an Etap 25. What remained is the full foamed double shell (sandwich construction) that stands for safety and comfort. The boat is unkenterable (self-righting) and unsinkable. The chosen construction method also ensures that the interior remains condensation-free. The retractable keel (0.70-1.45 m) makes the Etap 23 il very suitable for almost every Dutch inland waterway, but also at sea the Etap can do well. Of course, a ship's seaworthiness is only as good as its crew. The Etap 23 il is an excellent cruiser for 2 to 4 persons. The extensive trim options make the boat a sporty sailor. Halyards, sheets, boom snapper, stern tack tensioner and also the reef can be controlled from the cockpit. About one hundred 23 il's have been built. So it is not only a safe, sporty and comfortable boat, but also a rather exclusive one, which may be seen because of its beautiful line.

Engine:
Differing from the standard two-stroke outboard engine, a four-stroke 8 hp Yamaha F8C is installed in the bun. Placement in a bun in front of the rudder has the advantage of better steerability. The propeller water acts directly on the rudder. The engine has both a hand start and an electric starter. Year of construction of the engine is 2008.
Because of the retractable keel and with lowered mast, the boat is trailerable.
